Our 7th & 8th grade “Cardinal Flight” Team, which is part of our Robotics Program, competed in AeroGames last Friday at the Expo Center, Mid America Industrial Park in Pryor. The drone flying competition was sponsored by the Rogers State University STEM team AeroCats.
Each school was given a drone to program and fly through an obstacle course autonomously, without someone controlling it. They also had to pilot the drone with a controller throughout the course. This experience introduced our students to drone coding and basic drone piloting skills. The following link will direct you to the RSU website regarding the competition.

The Cleora team was 1 of only 3 teams that completed the course! Our students competed against 13 high school teams and 1 other middle school team. They were awarded 1st place in the autonomous flying competition as well as the “Best Crash” award in the driving portion, which our kids loved. Team Members are Eli Barnhart, Reese Roberts, Colton Heronemus, Brody Lester, Cheyenne Frost, Kyla Diebold, and Christopher Pesich. They are coached by Mrs. Free.
We are super proud of our Cardinal Flight squad!! Congratulations Cardinals!!!
